Vel R.S..Medical College(College of Nursing) was established in the academic year 1999-2000 under the Vel R.S. Trust and is located in Avadi,Alamathi Road,Chennai. The Faculty of college of Nursing believed that the basic B.Sc.Nursing programme offered will prepare a group of quality nurses to work at first level position in all health care setting.

The College of Nursing Library has books on various topics like basic science,Medical science,Surgery related titles, Child Health Nursing,Maternal and gynecological nursing ,Mental Health Nuring, Administration,Management and Nursing,Mangement,Computer,Bio-statistics education and nursing education,general books and community health nursing. There are over 3,000 Volumes of books and about and 1,130 titles,besides periodicals of various foreign Journals.
