Research
Research at the Veltech Dr.RR & Dr.SR Technical University is carried out in all disciplines covered by the existing Departments. It includes basic and applied research in Engineering, Technology, Management and Research in Education Methods. Special emphasis is placed on interdisciplinary projects of applied research, relevant to the Indian industry, economy and society.
Vel Tech Research Park
To initiate and execute joint R&D between Industry & University, and to further facilitate the Industries/ Institutes to interact with the HR resources of the University, Vel Tech has created a research park inside the University Campus having a total capacity to accommodate more than 80 Labs. Through this research park, industries can directly interact with the human resources of the University and thus can promote joint research.
Research Funding
The University has been funded with over INR 14.39 crores by various Public & Private sector Research institutes/Industries for various research initiatives. As a part of this research activity, the University has been funded with over INR 5 Crores by Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India, to establish a Technology Business Incubator in E-Waste management. Through this TBI the university will promote various areas in E-Waste Management which may be providing opportunities for the entrepreneurs.
Apart from this the University is funded with INR 1.88 Crores by the Gas Turbine Research Establishment, Defence Research & Development Organisation, Ministry of Defence, Govt. of India and INR 7.25 Crores by the Vel Tech-Telecom Centre of Excellence (A Public Private Partnership under Department of Telecommunication, Under The Ministry of Information And Communication) Govt. of India, etc.
