As part of our drive to attract the most promising students, promote our groundbreaking research and forge new links with business and industry, we have developed close relationships with talented people and likeminded organizations across the world.

There are four main strands to our International Relations:

Research - Joint research activity enables members to develop critical mass and competitive advantage and deliver research programmes of greater scale and scope than could effectively be delivered by individual institutions.

Mobility – The International Exchanges offers innovative opportunities for graduate student and staff exchanges and secondments between members and with corporate partners. Gaining experience of working in different research and work cultures, establishing new contacts and enabling access to international programmes are some of the benefits to participants.

Distributed Learning - Sophisticated online delivery and sharing of up-to-the-minute learning material from across the partnership. Combined with agreed standards for quality and course accreditation, is at the core of our International activity.

Virtual Seminars - Cooperation with our International University partners has been underpinned by a number of highly successful video seminar series. Viewed live and interactive at sites across the partnership, they provide a unique opportunity for staff and students to engage with world class researchers in their fields.

North University of China:
Joint Academic Initiatives:

	3+1 UG Engineering/Technology Program:
	VelTech & NUC Jointly offer a 3+1 UG Engineering/Technology programme in Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Material Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Information and Computer Technology, Micro Machinery Engineering through which the students will study the first three in VelTech and the final year in NUC. The Students will be admitted by VelTech as per their regulations and will be duly enrolled by NUC
	1+1 PG Engineering Program:
	VelTech & NUC Jointly offer a 1+1 UG Engineering/Technology programme in Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Material Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Information and Computer Technology, Micro Machinery Engineering through which the students will study the first three in VelTech and the final year in NUC. The Curriculum & Syllabi of this PG programme will be jointly designed by both the University and a separate credit transfer model will be evolved to facilitate the exchange.
	Confucius Institute:
	NUC agrees to setup a Confucius institute in VelTech through which a regular group of 3-5 Chinese teachers will be posted in VelTech so as to enable the VelTech students to learn Chinese language.

South West Jiao Tong University:

Southwest Jiaotong University (SWJTU) was founded at Shanhaiguan in 1896, named then Imperial Chinese Railway College. It is one of the oldest universities in China majoring in engineering.

	JOINT UG & PG PROGRAMME IN MECHANICAL, COMPUTERSCIENCE & ELECTRICAL ENGG
	VelTech & SWJT jointly offers UG & PG programmes in Mechanical, Computer science & Electrical Engineering. Through this programmes the students will be exchanged between the institutions. For the UG exchange the students will spend first three years in host institution & final year in the exchange institution. For the PG exchange the students will spend first year in host institution & Second year in the exchange institution. The Host institution will formally admit the students and the admitted atudents will be duly enrolled by the exchange institution. A separate Credit transfer model will be executed to facilitate these joint programmes

East China Jiao Tong University:

The School of Locomotive of Shanghai Jiaotong University merged with the School of Railway Engineering of Tongji University to become Shanghai Railway Institute and it was moved to Jiangxi Province, renamed as East China Jiaotong University and had been affiliated to the Railway Ministry of China .

	JOINT UG & PG PROGRAMME:
	VelTech & ECJT jointly offers UG & PG programmes in Railway Engineering, Vehicle Application Engineering, Highway and Railroad Engineering, Engineering of Transportation Information and its Control Through this programmes the students will be exchanged between the institutions. For the UG exchange the students will spend first three years in host institution & final year in the exchange institution. For the PG exchange the students will spend first year in host institution & Second year in the exchange institution. For the PG programme the Degree will be awarded by both the Univesties. The Host institution will formally admit the students and the admitted atudents will be duly enrolled by the exchange institution. A separate Credit transfer model will be executed to facilitate these joint programmes.
	JOINT RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT:
	ECJT has more than eight Center of Excellences through which ECJT and VelTech agrees to jointly involve in R&D activities. The research areas are Transportation Information and Control, Modern Manufacture, Road & Bridge and Civil Engineering, Communication Transportation and Economy, Institute of Instruction and Engineering Mechanicals, Applied Chemistry, Applied Mathematics, Computer Graphics and CAD

	TWINNING PROGRAMMES IN COMPUTERSCIENCE & IT:
	VelTech has executed a 3+1.5 B.Sc Computerscience & BCA programme with ECJT through which the students will spend three years in ECJT earning a Diploma and will do 1.5 years in VelTech to get their degree fron VelTech.

Yunnan University of Finance & Economics

	JOINT UG & PG PROGRAMME IN BUSINESS MANAGEMENT:
	VelTech & YUFE jointly offers PG programmes in Information Technology & Business Management. For the PG exchange the students will spend first year in host institution & Second year in the exchange institution. For the PG programme the Degree will be awarded by both the Univesties. The Host institution will formally admit the students and the admitted atudents will be duly enrolled by the exchange institution. A separate Credit transfer model will be executed to facilitate these joint programmes.
	JOINT RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT:
	YUFE and VelTech agrees jointly to involve in various R&D activities in the areas such as Theoretical Economics, Applied Economics , management, Business & International Relations, Computer Science and Technology , Statistics , Management Science and Engineering, Technical Economics and Management , Social Security ,HRM, etc
	JOINT CONFERENCES/SEMINARS/WORKSHOPS:

Wuhan University

Wuhan University is a key university directly under the administration of the Education Ministry of the People's Republic of China. It is located in Hubei Province's capital Wuhan. The University was founded in 1893.

University of Leicester:
Joint Academic Initiatives:

	Dual Master’s degrees
	VelTech & UL agrees to offer a Dual Masters programme in Engg./Technology within which dual Master’s degrees, that is two Master’s degrees awarded by each of UL and VELTECH, may be earned by VELTECH students. The normal period of study for the dual Master’s degrees will be one year (12 months) at UL, followed by one year (12 months at VELTECH), a total study period of two years. UL undertakes to accept students nominated by VELTECH to pursue a one-year programme of study leading to a Master’s degree in the Departments of Computer Science, Engineering or Biological Sciences. Students successfully completing the Master’s degree at UL will, subject to the approval of VELTECH, be permitted to transfer UL credits to VELTECH. Students who subsequently complete further credits at VELTECH will be eligible for the award of a Master’s degree by VELTECH. VELTECH’s nominated students for a Master’s programme at UL will be eligible to receive the maximum prevailing leVelTech of departmental scholarship funding applicable to the specific Master’s programme to which they are admitted.
	UL MRes/VELTECH PhD Collaborative Pathway Programme
	UL and VELTECH jointly offers a structured pathway leading to the degree of PhD. This programme will initially apply to the fields of Computer Science, Engineering and Biological Sciences at UL The final qualification, awarded through this Collaborative Pathway will be the degree of PhD, awarded by VELTECH, on the basis of its own internal regulations and quality assurance procedures, and on the basis of credit transfer arrangements from satisfactory completion of prescribed MSc and MRes study programmes at UL. It is not envisaged that there will be any requirement for, or provision of, joint supervision or other academic support from UL staff during the period when students are registered and studying for the degree of PhD at VELTECH. The academic programme of study at UL will comprise:
	a 1-year (12 months) MSc programme comprising taught modules and a project followed by
	a 1-year (12 months) MRes programme comprising taught modules, including Research Methodology (40 credits) and a research project (140 credits).

Cinvestav

VelTech & Cinvestav Jointly agrees:

To collaborate in networks, work teams and research and development projects in the
following research areas and its related disciplines such as Sustainable Energy, Micro systems and Nanotechnology, Biotechnology and biomedical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, Automatic Control, Electrical Engineering.
To support the development of postgraduate and doctoral students with international and intercultural competency through exchange programs.
Enhancing the quality and innovation of education and research by inviting leading researchers from CINVESTAV.

Exchange students to take up their Masters or Doctoral program at CINVESTAV.
Assist and motivate researchers to contact collaborators to enhance their research activities by means of joint projects, joint publications, etc.
Guidance to students for their future career in international arena.

Developing graduates and doctorates with international and intercultural competency.
Creating enhanced opportunities for research and learning.
Establishing a worldwide network of academicians, graduates and researchers.
Enhancing the quality and innovation of education and research.

Sany India:

Sany will identify and select the UG students of VelTech from the Mechanical, Electrical & Instrumentation departments during their fifth semester and the students after their 5 th sem, will spend 4 weeks in Sany China for finishing the inplant training. This arrangement is to make the students to know about the Chinese tradition & culture.
After completing the four weeks training in Sany China the students will come back to VelTech to finish their sixth semester course works.
Successfully completing the sixth semester, the students will be taken by Sany China and will be deputed to Changsha University of Science & Technology or Central South University to complete their seventh semester. The students will be awarded credits by the respective University and will be transferred to VelTech by a Credit Transfer Model. This arrangement is to make the students understand about the Chinese Technologies
Sany will identify and select the PG students of VelTech from the Mechanical, Electrical & Instrumentation departments during their first year.
These students will be deputed to do their third semester in Changsha University of Science & Technology or Central South University. The students will be awarded credits by the respective University and will be transferred to VelTech by a Credit Transfer Model.
Sany India will also setup a research Center (Sany Center of Excellence) in VelTech. Through this joint center both the parties pool out their resources to promote research and development.

THE INSTITUT NATIONAL POLYTECHNIQUE, TOULOUSE FRANCE

	JOINT RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT:
	To deliver area specific research programmes in the area of Fluid Mechanics, Energy, Embedded Systems, Networking, BioTechnology, Nano Technology, Chemical Engineering and Process Control thus leading to the development of future technologies To inculcate research in the minds of budding graduates To motivate faculty involvement in research.
