Introduction
Communication engineers plan, analyze, design, implement, operate,
test, maintain and manage communications systems and networks. They
play a key role in the ongoing development of the Internet and associated
technologies.
We live
in a big world. However by simply pressing a few buttons or clicking
a mouse, a telephone call or email can reach Sydney from Sivakasi,
in a matter of seconds - thanks to Electronics and Communication
Engineers.
What
do they do?
As Electronic
Engineers, they design, develop, test and maintain electronic parts
and systems used in computers, communications, navigation, industry
and entertainment.
As Communication
engineers, they may be involved in the:
Development of global positioning technologies which help in search
and rescue operations.
Creation of video-conferencing facilities which bring people together
from all over the world.
Design and maintenance of satellites which bring TV, telephone and
Internet service into remote and rural regions.
The way your community will talk to the world 20 years from now
is being developed by communications engineers today. If you want
to help build that future and decide how it will look like for your
people, you should consider becoming a communications engineer.

the student V. Leela Kumari. Around 30 papers have been published in various National
and International conferences and Journals by the faculty. The student
project entitled "Early detection of cancer using fuzzy based
photo plethysmography" was awarded the prestigious AT &
T Bell Labs(USA) Student Enterprise Award for the year 1999-2000
